Allentown is celebrating its 20th Anniversary of Curbside Recycling - April 2010 "Earth Month" - Would you like to volunteer to organize and/or help celebrate event(s) to commemorate our 20th Anniversary? Some ideas that have come up are: 

• Recycled art sculptures 

• Contests 

• Residential curbside rewards for recycling

Join the Great Allentown Cleanups - Please volunteer by calling Allentown Recycling at 610-437-8729 - The Great Allentown Cleanup will be held on Saturday, April 24, 2010. Individuals, neighbors, businesses, churches, and community groups are encouraged to organize a clean up in Allentown neighborhoods and parks. Call for cleanup supplies, for more information, or to clean up anytime throughout the year!

Adopt-A-Block – individuals, neighbors, businesses, churches and community groups are encouraged to adopt, clean and beautify the block where they live, work etc on an ongoing basis. The Bureau of Recycling & Solid Waste will provide cleanup supplies. Please call 610-437-8729. 

Clean in front of your home - bag and tie your trash properly. Free brooms and pans are available at the City of Allentown Bureau of Recycling and Solid Waste, 1400 Martin Luther King Jr. Drive to help you sweep up litter in front of your home or business.
