Lehigh County Household Hazardous Waste & Electronics Recycling Information
This program is designed to help residents dispose of paints, solvents, cleaners and other products not safe to dispose in municipal waste streams.
Lehigh County will sponsor a one day program dedicated to the proper disposal of household hazardous waste materials. All participants must pre-register. Call the Lehigh County Office of Solid Waste Management, 610-799-4177.

Acceptable HHW: paints - oil bases flammable liquids (gasoline, varnish, solvents, gas/oil mixtures) wood & metal finishing products deck stain water sealers household cleaning agents drain cleaners solid & liquid pesticides fertilizers mercury containing devices (thermometers, etc.) Putties, glues and other adhesives flourescent light tubes household rechargeable batteries alkaline batteries
HHW that they will not accept: medical wastes of any kind (needles, bandages, etc.) radioactive waste of any kind smoke detectors ammunition of any kind explosives or explosive compounds of any kind

Latex Paint Disposal - it must be DRIED and HARDENED, then place it in the trash.
ELECTRONICS RECYCLING
AERC accepts all electronics, including computers, monitors, printers, laptops, TVs, VCRs, stereos, modems, fax machines, copiers, cell phones, pagers, microwaves, telephones, whole fluorescent lamps, and thermometers. We also accept car, motorcycle and rechargeable and non-rechargeable household batteries all of which can be dropped off for a minimal fee.
