Everyone is required by law to recycle at home in Allentown. Most apartments in buildings with fewer than 26 apartments are included in City curbside collection.

Apartment complexes or buildings without City collection must have trash dumpsters and separate recycling containers and a recycling program which includes:

collection of glass bottles and jars, aluminum and tin cans, and either newspaper or plastic bottles;
a recycling bin for each apartment unit;
outdoor recycling containers near the trash dumpsters;
information for tenants about what and where to recycle.

Landlords must do all of the above to comply with the law. If your complex needs help with recycling please call the Hotline or click here for on-line reporting.

Recycle more items at the Allentown Recycling Drop Off Center on Martin Luther King, Jr. Drive, next to 15th Street bridge and across from the YMCA. Open to
everyone, 24/7/365.
